FIMRC

Start a Chapter

Initiating a chapter of FIMRC is an exciting process that requires commitment and dedication. A strong chapter finds its strength in the teamwork of many individuals. We are always searching for the brightest and most motivated individuals to serve as chapter founders. We hope you’ll join us!

While most of our chapters are at colleges, universities, and schools of medical professions, we also maintain high school and community chapters. Wherever there is a group of people committed to fulfilling FIMRC’s mission at home and around the world, a FIMRC chapter can thrive!

Please complete the inquiry form if you are interested in founding a chapter. The head of our Office of Chaptership will contact you once this form is received to initiate the process of starting a chapter or to direct you to a currently existing chapter.

How to start a FIMRC chapter:

  1. I. Organize an executive board
  2. Most executive boards generally consist of a President, one or two Vice Presidents, a Secretary, and a Treasurer. If you would like to modify this format to include additional positions, please feel free to do so.

  3. II. Become recognized by your school
  4. Officers of new college/university chapters should contact their school’s activities office to take the steps necessary to gain recognition as a student group. You may need to draft a constitution. For an example, please see our Sample Constitution.

  5. III. Submit necessary forms to FIMRC
  6. After we receive your inquiry form, we will send you the forms you will need to fill out in order to be recognized by FIMRC. You will need to complete a short series of forms when you first organize your chapter, and will then need to complete a report form at the end of each semester to maintain active chaptership.
