We're excited to welcome the University of Georgia back to active-Chaptership status!

2010-2011 highlights:

• Set up public health awareness classes at elementary schools’ after-school programs
• Educated at least 60 students on topics such as dental hygiene
• Participated in the Athens Street Festival and other community events with a booth to promote chapter and children’s health
• Made Valentine’s Day cards for children at the local hospital
• Continues to volunteer at the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia throughout the semester

Chapter accomplishments:

• Held five bake sales in 2008-2009
• Volunteered at a festival for immigrant community
• Held a movie night
• Participated in a party for homeless children and their families
• Collected and donated food for a needy family on Thanksgiving
• Held several food drives in the spring for homeless children
• Held a spring carnival and Easter egg hunt for UGA students to raise awareness
• Volunteered monthly at local homeless shelter
• Volunteered at local foster home for mentally ill children
• Held fundraiser bake sales every two weeks
• Raised $500 for FIMRC projects
• Raised money for children’s and AIDS charities
